This is another great place to utilize for running a cable through. So the problem here to how to get into and get out of the roof.
Depending on how high your roof is – 1 or 2 floors you will need a ladder/step-ladder and someone to hold it for you.
So we need to firstly exit the house by drilling ideally at low level out through the wall and ideally from the Router. This avoids any internal cabling straight away.
Most main line sockets are situated on an outside wall so you maybe able to poke a cable back out the same hole. If not a power dill with a masonry drill bit can handle this. Make sure you are horizontal with the drill bit and have checked where the drill will roughly exit. Also make sure you are not drilling near the existing cable as a drill bit will mangle it - so angle the bit away and try to leave as a much room as possible.
